Network of Experts for Sustainable Development in Central Asia

About NESDCA

The Network of Sustainable Development Experts of Central Asia was established in the framework of the UNDP project "Capacity Building of the Aral Sea Basin" in 1999 to develop recommendations for decision-makers in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. In November 2001 The network received the official status of the Regional Public Association.


The association is created to support the process of sustainable development in Central Asia, conduct analytical research in the field of sustainable development, participate in the preparation of national and regional strategies in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, support regional cooperation of scientists exploring the problems of sustainable development.

Our tasks
  • Independent expert assessments.

  • Promotion of information exchange between states and sectors.

  • Publishing information bulletins and other printed matter.

  • Participation and organization of seminars and conferences on sustainable development issues.

  • Development of new technologies for conducting systematic research in the field of sustainable development.

  • Support programs and projects for sustainable development in Central Asian countries.

  • Conducting trainings, pilot projects, analytical studies, participation in the preparation and implementation of national and regional strategies.

  • Support for the activities of the Interstate Commission for Sustainable Development in Central Asia, regional cooperation of experts and NGOs.

  • Contribute to the introduction of green economy and available technologies
